| How it Works
To be eligible for this program, an employee must:
- Be an active, full-time, civilian employee at the time of reimbursement;
- Have 25 documented visits to a fitness center in the 3 months prior to the reimbursement deadline. A usage report provided by a fitness center can be used to document visits:
- Submit a reimbursement application, fitness center usage report, and documentation of monthly membership fees by the deadline to the Employee Wellness Program. Documentation can be emailed to wellness@sanantonio.gov or faxed to (210) 207-4064.
Things to Know About Reimbursement
- Deadline for reimbursement is April 10 (for visits between January 1 and March 31).
- Reimbursements will take 4 - 6 weeks to process and are subject to payroll taxes.
- Only membership fees up to $20 are eligible for reimbursement. This does not include enrollment fees, daycare, classes, nutritionists, sports leagues, I. D. cards, etc.
Fitness Center Discounts
Several local fitness centers offer discounts or special rates to City of San Antonio employees when they are enrolling in a new membership. Click here to view an updated list of the fitness center discounts. To enroll in any fitness center, please take your employee I. D. as proof of employment. For detailed information about a specific discount or family rates, contact the fitness center directly. Note: Fitness center discount rates are subject to change at any time without prior notice.
