Celebrate National Public Health Week!
April 5 - 11 is National Public Health Week, a time to recognize the contributions of public health and highlight areas in need of improvement. This year's national theme is A Healthier America: One Community at a Time.
Metro Health's hope is to create a healthier San Antonio area. We are striving to achieve that every day through various initiatives and programs. You can check out some of them during our community wide health fair on April 7. It's just one of the Metro Health activities taking place during National Public Health Week.
We face many challenges in our community with obesity, physical inactivity and their resulting effects coming in at the top of the list. Find out what new developments have transpired to address these issues.
Also, did you know that public health has played a part in adding a minimum of 25 years to your life?
And, what should you do if one of the 12,000 babies born each day in our country is in your care? Read those details, get tips for summer travel, help a child turn some lemons into lemonade, and see how we find a "cure" for used medical equipment in this special edition of Health e-News as we celebrate National Public Health Week.
Don't forget! We value your opinion and ideas and want to hear from you. Let us know what you think of Health e-News.
