Public Policy Priorities
While there is a great deal of work going on within San Antonio and Bexar County to improve the health and well-being of the community, the Alliance recognizes the important role of health advocacy in ensuring long-term change. The Alliance is committed to raising awareness among local and state elected officials about public policies that promote health and prevent disease. Many of the organizations within the Alliance share a growing concern for the following critical public health issues:
• Growing Number of Uninsured
• Mental Health Care
• Women’s Health
• Obesity and Chronic Disease Prevention
• Environmental Health
